Chick-fil-A Comes To Portland

Mmm… Fried chicken. You see, people like myself live for food, and if you know me, you’ll know that this is all that I’ve been talking about as of late.

Seriously, I’ve been nothing but exuberant about the opening of two new Chick-Fil-A franchises in the Portland area, most notably at Tanasbourne in Hillsboro. For the past 70 years, there have been zero Chick-Fil-A restaurants in the state of Oregon, and as of April 2016, there are now two delicious Chick-Fil-As.  

When I first strode by the Chick-Fil-A at Tanasbourne, I was instantly shocked to see at least 100 cars lined up at the drive-thru and a line all the way to the freeway at the restaurant’s grand opening.

Thus, because of this long line, I couldn’t eat Chick-Fil-A that day, but during every class here at school, when I get hungry I think of Chick-Fil-A.

I remember my summer trip last year to Idaho, where I always go for at least a week to see my grandparents, and the minute I saw a Chick-Fil-A in Boise, I knew exactly where I would be eating my lunch for half the week. That’s right, I ate at Chick-Fil-A multiple times, and I would always get the same items; the deluxe chicken sandwich, waffle fries, some sauces, and a frosted lemonade.  

Although, I would have to say that if there were a downside to Chick-Fil-A, it would be the fact that they’re always closed on Sundays due to religious purposes and observation.

While I respect their views, I just love Chick-Fil-A so much that the thought of the restaurant only being open 6 days out of 7 breaks my heart. It means that on Sundays, a massive array of individuals will not be able to experience the delight that is a deluxe meal at Chick-Fil-A. The chicken itself is out of this world, and the rest just complements it.  Really, I think that that’s enough said right there.

Furthermore, the opening of two restaurants in the Portland area enables the expansion of southern culture into the Pacific Northwest. To be able to experience such great chicken made with the same traditional recipe as in the Southeast United States, it’s a massive privilege. I’m just overjoyed that Chick-Fil-A has finally decided to expand to Portland.  

So, when you go to Chick-Fil-A next time, and you’re thinking of ordering yourself a deluxe meal, think of me, and always, ALWAYS remember– Eat moar chikin…
