Summer 2018 is slated to feature the releases of several acclaimed artists, including Drake, Travis Scott, and more.
2018 has been a relatively good year for music – we’ve enjoyed long awaited releases of artists like A$AP Rocky, Flatbush Zombies, and Pusha T. But from now up until September, we should expect many long awaited albums/projects. Last week, Kanye started the season off right with the release of ye and tonight, his collaboration project with Kid Cudi titled, Kids See Ghosts, will come out. Later this month, fans can expect new Drake (Scorpion), Jay Rock (Redemption), ScHoolboy Q, and maybe Travis Scott’s Astroworld. BROCKHAMPTON was supposed to drop PUPPY this month, but due to now former member Ameer Vann’s allegations, the album was delayed. As of now, July will be a relatively quiet month, but jazz/funk group The Internet will release their sophomore record, Hive Mind. If we are lucky, Frank Ocean may release a project but that is still very, very hypothetical knowing Ocean’s track record. To wrap up the summer, Childish Gambino is supposedly dropping his final album (under that moniker) in September. Additionally, artists like Earl Sweatshirt and Isaiah Rashad, who’ve been quiet for a couple years, should debut some new tunes.
When we return from vacation, you can expect a few articles that’ll unpack Summer 2018’s hopefully memorable albums.
