Boys’ Tennis Team Hits Hurdles at Bigfoot Invitational

By Andre Stendahl

This past weekend, the boys’ tennis team traveled to the Bigfoot Invitational at Eugene Swim and Tennis Club, hosted by Marist Catholic High School, for a tournament with various other teams from different divisions and leagues.

From the 4A division, along with OES, was Catlin Gabel and Marist.  From the 5A division was North Bend, La Salle Prep, and Churchill. From the 6A division was Sheldon and Summit. In short, we had a tough time. According to Will Perry, ‘Marist was definitely the toughest’ . We had a 0-3 record, although the last match was fairly close. In terms of state this year, it seems like it will be a challenge, but there is still hope for individual doubles teams or singles players. According to Tod To, Valley Catholic’s Kristian Peev is the main prospect for the 4A singles’ champion, with a couple other contenders from other schools. This leaves the doubles bracket, though there are many very good opponents to face there as well.
