The new A. Lange and Sohne watch is a sleek, high-tech, and fashionable must-have for all mechanical watch connoisseurs.
The new ‘Zeitwerk Date’, from A. Lange and Söhne, is a watch completely unique to the company, resembling a digital watch, though entirely mechanical.
The number in the left-hand digital display indicates the hour, and the number in the right, the minute. The circular subdial at the bottom indicates the seconds, while the horseshoe subdial at the top displays the amount of time that the power reserve contains (with a total reserve of 72 hours).
The Zeitwerk line was started by A. Lange in 2008, and the Zeitwerk Date is the newest of this line, released in early 2019. Hence its name, this variant shows the date, indicated by a red marker behind one of the numbers located around the circumference of the dial. The movement for this timepiece is unique, as A. Lange developed a completely new movement for the Zeitwerk line, as well as adding the date complication for this model.
The watch is of typical A. Lange quality, with all components of the movement beveled, engraved, and polished by hand. The watch itself is made of white gold and rhodium silver, contains 70 jewels (artificial rubies) and two chatons, and measures around 42 millimeters in diameter.
