8 Songs That Will Make Your Summer Unforgettable

By Matthew Li

Summer is just around the corner, and there’s nothing more enjoyable than a set of eight perfect songs for those water balloon fights, waterpark visits, and pool days.

  1. We Renegades – French Montana

This opening track on French Montana’s album French Revolution brings back to French’s early days. The line “And I say Hey, hey hey hey” is emblematic of hot, Portland summer days spent at the Bluffs.

2. Tip Toe (feat. French Montana) – Jason Derulo

Just check out a cipher off this track:

Left cheek, right cheek, left cheek, right cheek (oh, no)
Left cheek, right cheek, left cheek, right cheek (ayy, ayy)
Tip toe (tip toe), tip toe (tip toe)
Chains on, got me lookin’ like a disco (a disco)

I think that speaks for itself.

3. White Dress – French Montana

For the 6 months, I’ve listened to this song several times a day. White Dress by French Montana would be at the top of the list, but it’s more of a spring song in my opinion, which is why it sits at number 3.

4. YOU NEED HATERS (ft. Project Pat and Juicy J) – French Montana

“YOU NEED HATERS” is a slap. A banger. It bumps. That’s all I have to say.

5. The entire album titled “Coke Boys 2” – French Montana

This EP is one of my all time favorites, sitting just below To Pimp A Butterfly and Coke Boys 1. (Check out Boo Billz Back off this)

6. Move That Cane – French Montana

One of French’s most elaborate tracks, the melodic, sharp, uproarious, resounding chord progressions have made a permanent mark on the hip-hop industry. This track will brighten the sun, cool the grass, and all round make your summer days better than you know they could be.

7. Zooted (ft. French Montana) – Becky G

“Zooting in Maldives catching tans. Give it a listen.

8. Freaks – French Montana (ft. Nicki Minaj)

“Ridin with the wolves, I ain’t takin Minnesota”
French is comparing his entourage to wolves here, and he isn’t referencing the 32nd state in the Union, Minnesota.
