My Love for Target

Mia Fitzloff

I love Target. Some of my happiest and earliest memories are in a Target. I go to Target a lot, mostly because there are not many other places to go during the pandemic. I find comfort in the slick composition tile floors, the red spheres, and the questionable produce section. I’d like to share some of my favorite Target purchases over time, and hopefully bond with other Target aficionados.

1. Danimals.

I know, I know. You can buy Danimals anywhere pretty much. However I have many vivid memories of a younger version of myself, desperately attempting to persuade my mom to buy Danimals. I haven’t had a Danimal in a long time.

2. One of the bouncy balls from the Target ball cage.

This is a bit of a stretch because I’m not entirely sure that I ever actually purchased one of these, but I know I definitely wanted to. I wonder how many hands have been stuck in one of these.

3.Suave Kids Travel Sized 2 in 1

Suave kids is engraved into my soul. While I no longer use anything strawberry scented like Suave Kids 2 in 1, the smell will always be nostalgic. And nauseating.

4. Easy Bake Oven

I still want an Easy Bake Oven. The fact that I never got to try one of the half-raw, rubbery “cakes” is unsettling to say the least. This is another item I unfortunately never purchased, though it was on every Christmas list I’ve ever had.

5.Portable Charger

Every single charger I’ve bought from Target has broken. Moral of the story: just because the charger is 8 feet long, does not mean it works any better.

6. World’s Best Dad Mug

I’m not ashamed. Target has such special mugs. They make a great last minute birthday gift for anyone!

7. Life Size Valentine’s Day Card

My most recent purchase: A jumbo pug-themed V-Day card. I don’t really have an explanation for this, nor do I have an image, so here’s a size reference photo.

Anything can happen in a Target. I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been to a Super Target as well. A Super Target is just like a regular Target. Only bigger. And better. It is truly a spectacle. If I had to list all my favorite things about Target, this is what I’d say (in no particular order): The mini Starbucks at the front, Christmas PJs, travel-sized products aisle, an endless supply of dog treats, candles, seasonal decor section, and of course, never getting a good parking spot. That’s really all I have to say about Target, though if you have any recommendations of what to else to buy there, let me know. The next grocery store I’m planning on reviewing is Trader Joe’s.
